User queries about the Advanced Graham Screener

Dear [user],

The answers to most of your queries can be found in Quick Reference - Benjamin Graham and Serenity Stocks. The Tutorial has the information as well, but is lengthier. The Quick Reference is a short read and should help you quickly understand everything you need to start using Serenity.

But in any case, given below are the answers to your queries:

1. If I wanted to apply the principal of "66% of book value = bargain" would I enter 151 into the "GN / PC %" field?.
7. I did not see a P/E screening criteria? Am I missing it?

Serenity does not support screening by P/E or P/B ratios alone, but rather with a combination of the two using GN÷PC (Graham Number ÷ Previous Close). Please see Adjusting Benjamin Graham's Price Calculations Today for more information on how the Graham Number screening values can be adjusted for prevailing interest rates.

2. "The CA / 2CL" Screen: What do I need to enter for Defensive Criteria (Current Assets 2x Liabilities)? For Enterprising Criteria?

100% and 75% respectively. Please see the section on "Defensive Graham Ratings" in the Quick Reference.

3. "The EPS Stability %": What does Stability % mean? If I wanted to screen for "No earnings deficits in last 5 years?" what would I enter into the field?

50%. 100% ⇒ 10 Years.
The "Include columns" section of the Advanced Graham Screener has a symbol alongside each of the fields that explains what each of them stands for. The information is available in the Quick Reference as well.

4. "Sale Size %" What is the percent related to? If I wanted to screen for companies larger than 500 million in annual sales, what do I enter into the field?

Anything more than 100%. 100% ⇒ $500 Million.
The information is available in the "Include columns" section of the Advanced Graham Screener, and in the Quick Reference as well.

5. "Dividend Record %." This is a percentage of what? What would I enter for determine uninterrupted dividend for last 20 years?

100% ⇒ 20 Years.
The information is available in the "Include columns" section of the Advanced Graham Screener, and in the Quick Reference as well.

6. "EPS Growth %" If I enter 30 in the field would this equal EPS Growth percentage of 30%? How do I screen for it existing for the last 10 years?

100% ⇒ 30% Growth over the last 10 years, i.e., earnings is 1.3 times that of 10 years ago.
200% ⇒ 160% Growth over the last 10 years, i.e., earnings is 2.6 times that of 10 years ago.
The information is available in the "Include columns" section of the Advanced Graham Screener, and in the Quick Reference as well.

9. In the result page, is the "Intrinsic Value" column the Serenity Number (when "Qualitative Result" is NCAV?).

The Intrinsic Value for a stock is calculated for each Qualitative Result as follows:
a. Defensive quality stocks: Graham Number
b. Enterprising quality stocks: Serenity Number
c. NCAV quality stocks: Net Current Asset Value

For more information, please see the Quick Reference.

8. What is the Quantitative Result % box? Is that a percent of Quantitative factors meet? If so, which ones?

Quantitative Result = Intrinsic Value ÷ Previous Close.
For more information, please see the Quick Reference.

Hope this helps you get the answers you were looking for, [user].
Please write back if you have more questions.

Thank you for being on Serenity!
