Many Stocks Have Fiscal Year Reporting Very Old

In my NET NET search (for NET/NET % > 100), I found a lot of stocks (examples: GGLT, VULC, LANZ, HKWO, FTDL) that came back from the screening where the "Fiscal Year" was very old. I am talking 2008, 2009, 2011, 2013, etc. To me this information is useless and should either be removed from the screens or have the ability for the customer to screen them out. Thanks in advance. Love your product, but my pet peeves are (1) this issues, (2) inability to remove/screen OTC, (3) inability to remove only companies BASED in the USA. Screens are quick but too much manual sifting after the screen. As always, thank you.

Stocks Discussed:

Dear Tooms,

Thank you for your forum post!

1. The lists of Premium Stocks for the Advanced Graham Screener only count analyses from the current and previous Fiscal Years.

Older stocks are retained for the record, but they are not counted as Premium Stocks.

The Fiscal Year column can simply be sorted to show the latest ones first. The possibility of adding a filter for Fiscal Years will be looked into.

2. There does not appear to be a general identifier for OTC stocks, but this will be investigated further as well.

3. This has already been addressed, as previously discussed.

Thank you again for your forum post!

Thank you, I appreciate it. Another example that I find a lot of is Chinese companies that show up as USA listed, and I get that their shares are listed on USA exchange, but they are not USA stocks. For example FAMI, which is a NET NET. I then have to go to Finviz.com and screen each stock. These should be removed IMHO as many of us do not want to "invest" in CCP and the process to screen these out is laborious. I will leave it at that. Thanks again.

Dear Tooms,

Thank you for your comment!

This issue (#3 above) has already been addressed, as previously discussed, with the Countries (HQ) filter.

You simply have to enter "US" in the said filter to see only those stocks which are actually headquartered in the United States.

Thank you again for your comment!

UGH, you are correct. My bad. Sorry and thank you.

Dear Tooms,

Thank you for your comment!

A solution to the OTC concern is being looked into as well.

Dear Tooms,

Thank you for your comment!

All stocks are being updated with a Market Identifier Code (MIC). These MIC codes will be shown on the stocks, as well as on the screeners.

You can use the Search Keywords field on the screeners to look for specific MIC codes such as "XNYS OR XNAS" (without quotes).

You can also avoid specific exchanges by using negative Search Keywords such as "XNYS OR XNAS OR -OOTC" (without quotes), although such searches may be slower than a positive search.

You can also filter for specific Fiscal Years using keywords such as "2021-12-31" (with quotes), though it's recommended that you use the Sorting feature on the screeners to manage Fiscal Years (by clicking on the column header).

Additional filters have not been added for the MIC and Fiscal Year fields since that would slow down the screeners considerably, and these fields can already be filtered using the Search Keywords field.

The MIC codes have been propagated to 75% of the database and should be completely updated in the next few hours. It may take a couple of hours more after that for the Search Index to get fully updated, and for these filters to be completely functional.

Update

Please note the more accurate updated search keywords above.

The MIC codes have been propagated completely, and the Search Index is up-to-date. The filters are now fully functional.
